Below is a work-in-progress, growing directory of BIPOC focused organisations and support groups committed towards creating spaces and community for Afro-European persons living in Switzerland:
Afeeda - Vaud based association, dedicated to improving the integration of racial equity issues into teacher training and education, while advocating for a sustainable, inclusive, anti-racist, and decolonialized educational system.
African Diaspora Council of Switzerland - Federation of the African Diaspora persons in Switzerland. ADCS is a member of Forum for the integration of migrants, FIMM Suisse. Their mission is to create a national platform for all Africans living in Switzerland.
African Professionals 4 Progress - Zürich based, APP is an NGO which goal is to create a global network of highly skilled and trained individuals from Africa, the Diaspora, and African descent.
Afro-Basel -Basel based platform for persons of Afro-descent in Basel and the surrounding area on which they can connect, exchange ideas and promote each other.
Afro-Belle Tours - Zürich based, Offers host family experience for women and families, providing support, guidance, and intercultural insights during visits to Benin.
Anja Glover - Lausanne based, Glover is dedicated to anti-racism education, empowers participants in her workshops to understand their biases and behaviors, fostering future equitable coexistence
Basel African Children & Family Association - Basel based association offers fun activities through games around African culture and above all the passing on of African values to children.
BFS Butterflies - Zürich based RNB and Dancehall workshops for girls 8 years and older. Workshops conducted regularly.
Blackfluencers Podcast - Basel based, this podcast shines a spotlight on Afro-decent persons in Switzerland, placing them at the center.
Blackstammtisch - Luzern based community for Black identifying persons, regularly meeting up to talk about experiences with everyday racism and/or just hang out.
Bokobokids Village - Geneva based community, offers workshop and book readings with an African Village concept, sharing captivating ancient wisdom stories from the continent, enchanting children with magic and timeless lessons.
Café au Lait - Zürich based association for Afro Dance, Singing & Percussion. Café au Lait welcomes children and adolescents of various skin colors, origins and cultures. The club is recognised by the Sportamt Zürich as a youth sports promotion.
Café Révolution - Bern based, anti-racism collective running a meeting place created by black and black-read women and femmes for people affected by anti-black racism and a wider, interested public.
Ca-ra-mel - Digital database gathering and exploring series of works and references either made by Afro-European Mixed individuals in public space, or dealing with the subject of being a multiracial Afro-European.
Collectif Amani - Nyon based Afro-feminist association committed to anti-racist/sexist activism with an intersectional approach.
Danielle Isler - Zürich based, Isler is a social scientist, Critical Race theorist, and is conducting research on the construction of racialized and exclusionary spaces in post-apartheid Cape Town.
European Race and Imagery Foundation (ERIF) -Their mission focuses on challenging racist depictions while highlighting narratives of resilience and opposition.
Exit Rascism Now - An alliance of various organisations and institutions formed in Switzerland that call for an end to racism in Switzerland.
Festival Black Helvetia - Neuchâtel based association committed to bringing together the Swiss population in order to evolve them towards a positive perception of black and Afro-descendant women* and thus contribute to better inclusiveness.
Fun4Kids - Vaud based organisation, offering support for parents of young children by offering flexible childcare solutions between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for children aged 2 to 5 years during school holidays. .
Happy Hair Day - Basel based, offers interactive child centred workshops for parents and caregivers of children with curly or coily hair. Located in Basel.
Ijeoma Parenting - Bern based association educating parents raising POC children, conducts various workshops on themes specific to BIPOC children including discussing racism, hair care and colourism.
Intercultural Forum Winti - Winterthur based association promoting the integration and participation of the migration population of Switzerland and especially in the city of Winterthur in the sense of solidarity and equal opportunities.
Institute New Switzerland (INES) - Bern based think & act tank with a migration foreground, founded in summer 2016. INES is a non-profit association, politically and denominationally independent.
JustThis - Zürich based, JustThis combats structural discrimination, seeing it as a violent form, and empowers individuals to fight it through education, tools, and networks. Located in Zürich.
Motsabi Rooper - London based, Rooper empower parents and caregivers to nurture positive racial identity, a sense of belonging, and strong self-esteem in children of 'Mixed' and 'Black' heritage."
Office of Integration of Migrants and Prevention of Racism, Fribourg - The Office for the Integration of Migrants and the Prevention of Racism IMR promotes integration. It answers questions relating to the integration of migrants and the prevention of racism.
OpenDesk.Schweiz - Basel based, OpenDesk is a free educational support project for students in grades 5 to 9. They provide tutoring and connect them with successful and inspiring individuals from diverse and PoC backgrounds.
Petits Pas de Société - Geneve based NGO committed to creating a equitable, inclusive and diverse for all children. Regularly host events and workshops.
SankofaRisin’ Podcast - Basel based, podcast takes you on a journey from roots to tips, where we share self-created stories, connect with fellow curly girls, and celebrate the joys and challenges of curly hair.
Schwarze Schweiz - Black Swiss’ mission is to collect, capture and share resources to witness, represent and strengthen the current and past history of black people in Switzerland for future generations.
Swiss Federal Commission Against Racism (ECR) - An independent government commission. It was established by the Federal Council in 1995 after the ratification of the International Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination RDK and the adoption of the Racism Criminal Standard Art. 261bis of the Criminal Code.
Valais Anti-Racism Week - Valais based, They are committed to humanitarian and social causes, offering services and assistance in the fields of health and the social sector for the most disadvantaged people in Calais region
Verein Diversum - Zurich based association catering to persons affected by everyday, institutional racism, allies welcome. They conduct workshops around topics of racial, sexual, religious, xenophobic prejudice and host healing events.
Vo Da - Swiss collective of people from there who one day decided to work together to raise the issues of discrimination and racism publicly together and to clearly identify incidents/structures.
Yeba School GVA - A cultural school, based in Geneva and Lausanne, is committed to providing Afro-descendant children living in Switzerland with an education focused on African and Caribbean languages and cultures.
